How to colorize black and white video in a few clicks
If you come across a very old video of your relatives or a b / w video on the Internet, you can quickly restore its colors in a few clicks. Today everything will be done by neural networks that can realistically assume what black-and-white frames looked like in reality. They have been trained on thousands of photographs to get the best results. With the help of the Google Colab service, you can color any video, you only need a computer or smartphone. Here's what you need to do: on this page, click on “Video | Open in Colab”, go to your Google account and save the project to yourself on Google Drive. We turn on all the blocks in turn - by clicking on "[ ]", and wait for each one to load. In the "source_url" field, leave a link to the desired black and white video on YouTube and start the process. That's it: in a few minutes the video will be ready! The result is available for download. The neural network colors each frame in turn, so it's better to split a large video into chunks.
